Chuck Barrett
Pastor
Chuck was born and raised in Greenville, SC where he taught seminary at Geneva Reformed (2004-2015) before moving to Signal Mountain, TN to serve as Associate Pastor at Wayside Presbyterian Church (PCA). He accepted the call to and began his ministry at Christ the King Wilmington in January of 2026. Chuck has been married to Bridget since 2000 and they have a son and daughter, Taylor and Sophie. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors or at a coffee shop with Bridget, reading, kayaking, and randomly checking in on Detroit sports.
Mary Catherine Thompson
Administrative Assistant
Mary Catherine was born and raised in Wilmington. She met her husband, Rob, while volunteering in the nursery at a church when they were in college and were married in 2012. She graduated from UNCW with a degree in Elementary Education. After 9 years of teaching, she decided to leave the classroom to spend more time with her son, Wyatt, born in 2018. Daughter, Emmie, joined the family in 2021. She enjoys reading, checking things off to-do lists, and pretty much anything outside!
Heather Whitley
Children's Ministry Director
Heather Whitley was born and raised in Wilmington. She left Wilmington for 6 years to pursue a collegiate softball career. Returning back to her roots to finish college she reconnected with a childhood friend, Kevin, who she married in 2012. She graduated from Cape Fear with a degree in Medical Office Administration. When her oldest son Owen was born in 2015 it was a natural transition to become a stay at home mom. Rhett was born in 2017 to complete the Whitley family. Her leadership skills and passion for teaching the next generation have led her to serve in multiple ways within the church and the community. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, camping, sports, survival skills.
